Lo is an approximately 6 month old mixed breed gal who came to us after she was rescued from a Reservation area in South Dakota. She came to us with her 2 male siblings, Lance and Lux. She is a completely sweet and lovable gal who loves to cuddle and interact with people. She has been completely vet checked and spayed and her fee is $125.

Unfortunately Lo and her brothers came to us with canine papillomavirus. This is a virus that can hit dogs who have not had the greatest start in life (poor diet, neglect, etc.). It presents with warts that grow on the face, particularly around and inside the mouth. Of the 3, Lo was hit the hardest. The bad - it is contagious to other canines, especially those who are very young or very old and it is pretty ugly. The good - it is NOT contagious to people or animals other than dogs and it will resolve itself as the pups mature and their immune systems become stronger.

We have had Lo and her brothers treated for the virus both surgically and with antibiotics. They are all doing very well and are ready to head into new homes. They might look a bit raggedy but they are smart, loving, and happy pups who crave attention and are eager to please.

NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications can be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org.

We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.

We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.
