Augie, originally O'Brien at our shelter, was adopted in March, 2023 when he was around 4 months old. He was returned on 11/30/2023 as he turned out to be too strong and active for the adopter. He supposedly has over a dozen breeds in his genetic make up - pit bull, shar pei, beagle, lab, etc... Augie has been been fully vet checked, vaccinated, chipped, and neutered. His fee of $150 is being sponsored by one of our volunteers.

Augie is a nice and loving 1 year old boy. However, he still has a lot of maturing to do at his young age, and requires a lot of exercise and continued training. He's looking for a home in which he will not be left alone for long hours. Augie should do well with other dogs and lived with cats in his previous home. Older kids would be best as he does still exhibit some of the crazy puppy behavior.

NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications can be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org.

We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.

We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.
