Zach came to the shelter as an owner surrender on 6/2/2023 after his owner was told he could no longer have a dog like Zach in the apartment building. This could have been the result of breed restrictions as Zach could likely have pit bull in his breed mix, but does have cattle dog features as well as maybe some lab. He is two years old as of fall 2023. He has been vet checked and neutered and his fee is $125.

Zach is active and strong and will need a home prepared to keep up with his exercise needs. His owner loved him a lot and provided him with some basic training, but it would be good for him to continue his training in a new home. He's a smart dog who learns quickly and is eager to please. He does enjoy the company of other dogs but needs to work on his approach as he can be a bit too enthusiastic. Cats are probably a no for him. An adult only home or one with kids over 8 would be best.

NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications can be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org.

We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.

We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.
