Story arrived as an owner surrender on 10/4/2023, when she was still under a year old. Before she came to us, she'd already been through several homes that didn't give her stability or everything she needed. We named her Story because she already had quite the story to her life for such a young dog. She is shy, but our volunteers have been working with her. She's a petite pit bull type mix, maybe with lab and other breeds. Her fee is $150 and she has been vet checked, spayed, and chipped.

Story does need basic training. She hasn't had a lot of work on leash walking but is slowly getting the idea. She's looking for a somewhat calm home in which she won't be left alone for long hours. She needs someone who is ready, willing, and able to work with her on proper socialization and confidence. She is doing really well with other dogs and is gaining confidence. We're thrilled with her progress! Cats? We're not sure. Kids over 10 would be best.

NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications can be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org.

We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.

We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.
