Barkley was rescued from the Austin City Pound on 11/17/23.  He originally came from the Palleton Company in NE Austin.  Unfortunately there are several unfixed cats who have been abandoned and the population has become quite large because of human negligence in this area of Austin.  Barkley is a very handsome guy who is a bit on the shy side until he knows you. He is about 2 years old at the time of rescue.  He has blossomed since he figured out that people aren't all bad.  He likes to be held and has a ready purr with the volunteers here at MCHS.  In a new home, we think there will be an adjustment where he will be shy, but with patience, we have seen success happen with this guy!  Barkley is now neutered and current on his shots.  He has tested neg for feline leukemia and positive for FIV.  We are looking for an long-lasting home for this handsome guy. A one pet home would be the best fit for Barkley.  Adoption fee is waived with an approved application. A pet carrier is required and you must be 21 to adopt from MCHS.  To meet Barkley or any of our cats, go to mchs.rescuegroups.org and complete and submit our online application.  We will review and get in touch to set up a meeting time.  Our address is 101 22 ST SE, Austin, MN.  We are located off of I-90 via exit 180B to 218 SOUTH.  We are just past our local airport.  THANKS.
