Sonya came to the shelter from the city pound on 4/4/2024 when her hold was finished and no one had claimed her. She's about 2 years old and looks to be a black lab/pit bull type mix. There could be some other breeds in there, too. She's very loving and full of enthusiasm. She has been vet checked and spayed and her fee is $125.

Sonya will need plenty of basic training. She is a very energetic young dog who will require regular exercise. We do think she would do best as the only pet in the home, at least until she gets some good training and socialization under her belt. She will need some time to decompress from the shelter environment as it has been causing her a lot of stress. An adult only home would be best (teens are fine).

NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Please keep an eye on your emails if you apply.

We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.

We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.
